I have read Nonviolent Communications by Marshall Rosenberg, and feel that if everyone in the world used this model of communication, we could be closer to achieving peace in the world. Being a massage therapist, I often listen to peoples' problems and using the NVC model has been the ultimate way to respond. I was also told by a friend that I am the only one they could talk to about issues and I'm sure it is because I was using the NVC model.
The OFNR model helps break patterns that lead to arguments, helps resolve conflicts peacefully and helps get everyones needs met. The model helps develop relationships based on mutual respect, compassion, and cooperation.
At present I do not have an empathy buddy.
I hope by participating in a group to achieve keeping the skills I learned in NVC active and in action.
I hope to be able to keep practicing NVC in the group setting so that I will continue using the model of communication in my everyday situations.
Hi, I'm Elaine Mason, and live in Deptford, NJ. I'm a Massage Therapist and Energy Healer and practice in Deptford and Cherry Hill, NJ. I am grateful that NVC is available to practice a tool to achieve a more empathetic method of communication.
I'm always finding new value in Compassionate Communications. It's a great tool to use in lieu of judging.
