Mt. Pinos, Sawmill Peak and beyond

We will be hiking to the top of Mt. Pinos, Sawmill Peak and "perhaps" beyond to Grouse Peak. The total distance and elevation is nine miles with about 2,OOO feet elevation gain. I say "perhaps" beyond because I need to be back in Bakersfield no later than 4:00 so "I" might not be able to go all the way to Grouse Peak...but...others are welcome to go beyond without me if need be.  Sawmill Peak is a six mile round trip for those who may also need to cut the day short. Make sure you bring plenty of water because it is supposed to be warm next week-end and there is no water on this trail. There is a lot of up and down on this particular trail and most of the time we will be hiking above 8,000 feet so I am hoping it will not get too hot. Hope you can join us!

If you are going south on 99 to Panama Lane, the off ramp is still closed another week according to my quick cursory check of the internet. I'm taking Gossford to Panama, then east.

I fell today on my hip. Having some pain. I will not know until tomorrow morning if I will be attending the hike. Depends on how my hip is feeling. If you guys do not see me in the morning. Have a great hike. And I will see you on the next trip.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
