Maysan Lakes Trail to Mt. Irvine Extreme Day Hike

All my hikes are strenous and mostly involve peaks, please only fit and the hardy and experience hikers/peakbaggers only. This does involve lots of rock scrambling and Class 3 climbing.

No Whitney permit is not needed on this hike since its outside the WhitneyZone. We will start this hike on the Maysen Trail which you have to walk through a campground to get to it then its about a 3600 feet of elevation gain in 5 miles and thats just to the Maysen Lake. Its more of a gain going up to Mt Irvine which is at 13,770 ft elevation. The TH starts at 8,080 ft. We will take a break at the lake to eat a little of something and recharge for the big push to the peak. We will approach it from the north which is the normal route once there if we have the energy and time I would like to traverse over to Mt. McAdie and try to attempt to bag it also, its elevation is at 13,799 or Mt. Mallory which is at 13,850 ft. You can get more info at summit post mount irvine

Hey Dave, I changed my leaving time. Instead of leaving at 10pm from work I am going to leave at 3am tomorrow morning from the house here in Isabella

Hey Steve I will be leaving at 2am and heading to?? the campground parking on the left on the main road or the Whitney trailhead parking or overflow?? I will be wearing my helmet after the lake due to rockfall! Snow Nymph recommended!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
