Hart Park Moderate Conditioning Hike: 5 miles at 6:30 pm

Join us for an evening conditioning hike, finishing in evening twilight and providing unobstructed views of the Bakersfield sunset.  Bring  water and sun protection!

We meet at the Sheriff's shooting range near the "west" entrance to Hart Park.  This one and a half to two hour hike is moderate because we do keep a good pace as we move up down some hills, a few which are somewhat steep and can be slippery. The total distance is about five miles with an elevation gain of around 1300 feet.

JUNE 24TH WILL BE THE LAST TUESDAY MODERATE CONDITIONING HIKE UNTIL AUGUST OR SEPTEMBER.  THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING OUT AND MAKING THIS SUCH AN ENJOYABLE WAY TO GET IN SHAPE!  SPECIAL THANKS TO BILL (BILBO) BAUGHER, WHO ORIGINALLY STARTED THESE CONDITIONING HIKES AND INTRODUCED ME TO THIS EXCELLENT ROUTE!

I would not recommend this hike for anyone who is not in shape. You don't have to be in great hiking shape but you do need to have a recent history of regular cardio exercise. So, if you are looking to keep in shape and something to do, join us  at the posted start time.  A headlamp should not be needed but I always like to carry one for emergencies.

Hope to see you out there!

We do conditioning Hikes so we can hike to places like this!

(A place we will be going this spring break in Utah!)

For 102, the hike tonight wasn't bad with a strong breeze! Seven souls braved the heat and dust in the name of conditioning!
