Beginners' "Hot Night @ Hanglider Hill" Conditioning Hike

  • July 9, 2014 · 7:00 PM

Join us this hot Summer night for a beginner's conditioning hike at Hang Glider Hill.  Please note that I have changed the starting time from 6:15pm to 7pm to hopefully avoid the hottest part this 100+ degree day.  We will meet at the dirt area, across the street from California Living Museum on Alfred Harrell Highway at 7:00pm.  This is a slow paced hike with a few good inclines and because of the extreme temperature, the hike may be shortened to 3.2 miles instead of the 4.2 miles we have enjoyed with the recent pleasant weather. All levels are welcome to participate as our hikers have a varied degree of ability.  We support each other and we always have fun!  Bring lots of water.

I liked the opposite direction, if only the wind was at our backs; sandy air.

I am looking into getting a set of poles. Is there any brand I should avoid or is there any brand that is highly recommended?

Find an REI and check the various locking mechanism. Some twist and some clamp. I mainly use poles only on downhill. You will find numerous bells and whistles so beat to try someone's poles during a hike.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
