Farewell Canyon to Farewell Gap out of Mineral King

This is an in-and-out hike and people can choose thier own hiking level.  It can range from moderate to strenuous depending on how adventurous you are feeling.

The Plan:

We will begin our hike at the Mineral King Trail Head  in Sequoia National Park  at 8:45. The entire group will take the Farewell Canyon trail. The hike will end at the Farewell Gap saddle. In total it is about a 13 mile round trip with about 2,500 feet of elevation gain. The trip is all on trails.

Details:

The guest list is limited to 20 because Mineral King is a popular TH. Each car will need a National Parks Pass upon entering the park. Be advised marmots do occasionally eat the radiator hoses and electrical wires of vehicles so bring a tarp or chicken wire to protect your car. Usually this is only an issue early in the season.

Hey guys, I'll see you at the TH. I'm going to hike up Vandever once we reach the gap.

Wow I wish I could go on this one and the one following the next day. I have company coming. I have never heard of marmot eating things from your car. Interesting.
