Over the years I have had the privilege to hike many of the great mountain ranges, ancient forests, and wilderness beaches in the Western U.S. and Canada...and...I love it all!
I prefer hikes between 7-12 miles with an elevation gain between 1500 and 3000 feet but I have also been known to hike up to 20 miles plus in one day. I prefer hiking the sub- alpine zone but I also enjoy hiking on the coast and desert. My favorite places to hike are the Ansel Adams Wilderness near Mammoth and the Pacific Northwest in Olympic and North Cascades National Parks. I love hiking along high ridges, beautiful meadows, and crystal clear mountian lakes. I also enjoy car camping because it allows me to explore an area in depth over a two to five day period.
Yes, that would be great to share the room. I was planning on camping in Death Valley but was no too enthused about that idea since it will probably be a bit on the cool side.
Will also see if I can time it right so I can be at Red Rock for the hike at 9:00.
Bill. I have added you +1 to the Montana de Oro meetup. You will be in my camp site. Not sure what site yet, They will tell what site we will have when I get there. Jerry
Bill, I have camp site #4 for this if you want to share.
Hi Bill, look forward to hiking with you again this fall. Broke my little toe, and it's been slowing me down - hate that! But see you soon.
Hi Bill thanks for the welcome and I look forward to the my first hike!!
Hi Bill, I actually started this group so us "less than fit" can work our way up to going with your group KRV Hiking club. Your group seems to have a lot of great activities but the difficulty ratings are "a bit" beyond what we can do right now. I am walking with a 30# back pack to toughen me up, Soon Bill... soon :D
