Scenic, challenging and varied terrain with Nature and wildlife. Kind of Utopian there ;-) with all that. Like past hikes to Sykes hot springs which is a 7 mile hike above Big Sur. Sometimes just a 2 mile hike like down into a beautiful wilderness canyon to deep creek hot springs between Hesperia and Lake Arrowhead or the 2 to 3 mile up to and up the Needles Lookout. The 7 mile hike in the western Idaho Bitterroot wilderness to Stanley Hot springs was a cold Winter snowshoe hike and camp but much fun and had Moose. Even a short hike of 4 miles is grand when things happen like finding a field of Clover above Topanga and experiencing the pleasure of falling into it. Have hiked all around Los Angeles, Ojai, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo area and found some gems and also understand not to hike open terrain in the dead of summer. Have hiked up Mt. Baldy and also ran it numerous times but like a few more trees on hikes.
