Bring on the Ski Pole! It's Gander Mountain Time

Time for the mother of all hike!

I like this one because it's rough and rugged.

We get to hike along the border of Wisconsin and get to see the Fox River in the backwood areas.

This is no ordinary 3 mile hike thinking you will be done within an hour.

This is a one track trail where we all play follow the leader for 3 miles.

It goes up and down the Kettle Moraine and straight down to the Fox River, and then we go straight back up.

The straight up is not for the faint of heart. Hence the ski pole, you're going to need it!

Bring a water bottle along and dress appropriately for the weather and the terrain. If I know one thing, Gander Mountain has quite a few thorny bushes so wear some long pants too.

Parking is on the side of the road only. Us caution when coming out of the car.

This location is south of Wilmot WI on Hwy W. This location is a smidge over the border line and south of Wilmot Mountain.

If you are coming up on the Illinois side, this is located north of IL Highway 173 (KC Cabin is on the SE corner of 173 and Wilmot Road) and just a smidge south of the Wisconsin border. If you gone past Wilmot Mountain you went to far.

Afterwards, we will sit and relax having Margarita on the lake shore of the Chain at El Puerto in Fox Lake. Should be there by 12:30 PM.

See you there,

I am bringing a friend. Would it be okay to wear tennis shoes for this? Or do we need boots?
