17th Annual Fat Tire Bike Pub Crawl around Lake Geneva!

Hey Guys!

This event gets bigger and bigger for our Group. The first year was 5 and last year was 51 members combined from our group and Fun Friends Group.

Please make a comment as to what costumes we should wear.

We will meet in front of the Lake Geneva Public Library (918 W.Main Street). We will be leaving from there at 8:45 AM sharp. If you don't want to feed the meter, the best places to park is in the neighborhood. Please park North of Main Street (HWY 50) and West of Madison.

Basically it is a pub crawl but on a bicycle. We will be riding 22 miles around Geneva Lake and stopping every 2 miles for... well for anything, really. We will stop in Fontana for lunch at any of the local establishments. For dinner there will be a pork roast at Champs.

We will be meeting at Champs behind their Beer Garden in the Parking Lot at 8:00 AM.

2013 brings two new changes to the Fat Tire Ride. Guaranteed T-shirts to all riders registered via website or mail before August 26th, 2013. This is when online registration will be closed and the registration fee becomes $40 the day of the event. Whatever T-shirts are left over will be distributed that day. Pre-registration Packet and T-shirt pick up at the Geneva Ridge on September 6th, 2013 from 6:00PM-7:30PM. Anyone who has registered in advance can avoid Saturday morning registration by doing so. Riders can also register that evening and may receive a T-shirt that night. The Geneva Ridge will have a limited block of rooms with a special rate for Fat Tire Riders. They will also be serving a pasta buffet Friday evening. Call[masked] to reserver your room and to learn more about the pasta buffet.

Our main Benefactor is the Walworth County Alliance of Children. A not-for-profit program dedicated to our local children through assisting the devastating experience of physical and sexual abuse and neglect. You can enter the Costume Contest as an individual or as a team of no more than ten people. Registration for the Costume Contest is an additional $5 per person. You can register in advance or the day of.

Contestants will gather at our new stop in Williams Bay, Pier 290, where we will have a "people's choice award" for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for both individual and 10 person teams.

Costume contestants must be present by 3pm when the winners will be announced.

Fat Tire Ride of Lake Geneva is a fun bicycle ride on paved roads around Geneva Lake Wisconsin. Beginning at 10AM with a mass group start at Champ's Sports Bar & Grill in the City of Lake Geneva, it consists of 10 designated stops at sponsoring taverns. Proceeding at your own pace, the ride is approximately 21.5 miles and the "rest" stops are evenly spaced. Participating businesses are Champ's, Shifters, The Owl Tavern, Gordy's Boat House, Chuck's Lake Shore Inn, Harpoon Willies, Lucke's Cantina, Pier 290, Bar 55 and Mars Resort. The ride is held rain or shine and travels through Lake Geneva, Fontana and Williams Bay with great views of Geneva Lake and Lake Como.

Participants receive a map of the route, a pig roast dinner ticket and a general raffle ticket. Other events taking place during the ride are a costume contest which you must register for in advance or the day of the event. T-shirts are handed out to the first 1000 riders to pick up registration packets on the day of the event and are guaranteed to pre-registered riders before 8/26/13. At 11AM an T-shirts not picked up by pre-registered riders will be given to "day of registered" riders. If you cannot arrive before 11AM, someone else can pick up your T-shirt and packet for you. Additional pig roast tickets may be purchased for non-riders for $8.00.

Proceeds from the ride benefit the Walworth County Alliance for Children.
