At Greynolds Park B.O.BAG North Dade /South Broward Meetup

I thought it might be nice to meet at a park in North Miami and get North Miami on the ball with events locally to this area.

Very informative and balanced group of people. I appreciated the fact that each person brought something to the table that could benefit others. Regular people simply wanting to sharpen their community skills. Beginners and experienced all mingling together. Enjoyed very much...

Hey Kat, You will greatly benefit from the meet as there are some increadibly gifted and knowledgible members here. I do not know who will be there but Chris, Charlie, Dr. Bones & Nurse Amy as well as myself and others have an amazing history that goes back decades regarding our backgrounds that are there to assist most of us all.

Thank you again Cliff. I am excited to be part of this group. Just from the postings for this meet up it is obvious that everyone is not only very nice but very committed and knowledgable. I am really looking forward to this meetup.

What does the B.O.O. mean? And it says that there was a change to this meetup but I still see same place, date & time. What changed?

Hi Kat. Unless you got it wrong, it is B.O.B. There is a location on EDC fourms.com htat lists the acronyms. This time the issue / concern is about B.O.B.'s (Bug Out Bags). There are many types of bags, and alot of preppers cloud the types as the uses are to be set up for each persons individual needs. Generally the Bug Out Bag, contains moer items then some of the other types. The bag that I am mpoost concerned with now, due to my circumstances is the G.H.B otherwise known as the Get Home Bag. Although this type of bag is usually known to contain less items (as in for more perminant living)

Thank you Cliff, but it does say BOO and that's what I didn't understand. I am assuming that it was just a typo and meant to say BOB, which was my original thought but being new to the group, I thought maybe there was something that BOO stood for that I was not aware of.

Sorry I won't be able to be there due to work. On another note, anyone looking for a BOV. I have a rare one 4-sale. 1990 Chevrolet Suburban 4X4, 5.7 liter, auto, A/C, Barn Door Scottsdale Model, new headliner, new dash cap, **40**Gallon gas tank! $4,500.00

The chem warmers from the MRE's I would save for warming up my sleeping bag or coat....if I need a warm MRE, I will put it on my driveway or on any piece of dark metal that has been under the Florida sun..........does anyone here plan on starting and cooking a fire on whatever wood they can find (if you are not worried about smoke, which you can build a fire to prevent that anyway), to save room in your bag?? If I need to cold camp, I will put the MRE inside my coat or on the outside of my pack.....................Chad, check with Michelle.....and do your demo ........ANYONE ELSE WANT TO ADD SOMETHING????

Let's see if there is interest in this. Portable food in BOB's is a critical consideration. If I have a way to boil water I will bring some freeze dried meals and MilSpec MREs for sampling and instruction on how to prepare. I can use small volcano type stoves as along as its legal for open fire. Do they have grills there ?

OK for directions this is the best I can do: Enter the park from NE 185th St. and NE 22nd Ave. Take the road to the right and go pass the 1st parking lot. Before you get to the path leading up to the Fort turn right (south) to the next long parking lot, go to the end and park. Take the trail west toward West Lake. You can see us at the area from the parking lot. Can't find us call me[masked]

Would it be good to bring things to sell or swap as well.

I think everyone who has one should bring their BOB and we'll do some show and tell. As well set some group only rendezvous point for the Bug Out Groups with set signal as when to meet up after and declared event or even better a telephone "call ladder" where everyone calls five people and BUGs out. They each call five etc and we set all BO members in motion. For BUG IN, same procedure at least for protection steps. 12_21_2012 is so close the hair my neck is perpetually on end.

Ther is an area near the fort/tower. It's between parking lot and the water. It has stone table and benches and is near the bathrooms. Good place to meet. http://www.flickr.com/photos/bethechangeinc/2904100119/

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
