The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates citizens about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their community and train them in basic disaster response skills.
• DISASTER PREPAREDNESS
o Actions to take before, during, and after a disaster.
• FIRE SUPPRESSION
o Fire chemistry, hazardous materials, and fire suppression strategies.
• DISASTER MEDICAL OPERATIONS
o First aid training and practice.
• SEARCH AND RESCUE OPERATIONS
o Search and rescue planning and techniques.
• DISASTER PSYCHOLOGY AND TEAM ORGANIZATION
o The signs and symptoms experienced by the disaster survivor and worker.
o Definition of Terrorism and terrorist goals.
