Santa Lucia Celebration

The Origin of Santa Lucia

Santa Lucia began in 1979 honoring the Swedish heritage of Southminster's first pastor, Dan Nelson. The holiday is celebrated every three years having four purposes. The purposes are:

To present the fellowship and mission of Southminster church to the community. To provide an opportunity for all to participate in an all church activity. To share in the Advent Season. To raise funds for the mission of Presbyterian Women and Southminster that will enable us to meet changing needs.

The next Santa Lucia celebration will be on Saturday, December 7, 2013.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
