"Easy Riders" SouthSide Leisure Cycle is a new meetup, founded August 2013. It is intended to bring together those not just interested in leisure and exercise cycling, but who want to be part of a group, who will improve their health and wellness weekly outings.
This is South Dublin based, and cycles are Sundays 10.00 am - 12.00 p.m., including an optional break out social meetup for coffee afterwards.
Our goal is to present an opportunity for people who would like to go on a group early cycling, then chill out.
The group is about cycling, exercise, but also fun/social.
Unlike the old motor bike movie "Easy Rider", there's no drugs required, EPO or anything else to influence your cycling. The Coffee is the only stimulant you might be on.
The cycle will be just 15 - 20 KM, in a group. You would need a decent bike, a fair level of fitness and a very keen sense of road safety. You partake at your own risk, but we will cycle mainly where cycle lanes are present or off busy road stretches as much as we can.
If you are interested in taking part on the cycles (no costs on cycle), we will leave from the Montrose Hotel, opposite UCD, on the Stillorgan road for an one hour cycle, returning to same and having the (optional) food or coffee meetup.
You may want to just come along without signing up here to check it out. However, please register for specific meetup, so that you will receive timely alerts on changes or reschedules (prior to travelling to the cyle), if the weather forces a last minute cancellation.
Look forward to meeting you, and please feel free to share about this meetup and the link www.meetup.com/Southside-Leisure-Cycle
All the best and hope to see you soon.
