MeetUp at Donna's House; Theme= France

  • May 28, 2014 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Limit 20 people.  register early, if you can't come please cancel online 48 hrs prior

Thanks, Donna, for volunteering your house!   Theme = FRANCE; BYO French Wine and food.

One of our new Enthusiasts, Miss Tanisha, will be teaching us about French Wines; Tanisha has taught the subject recently - IN France!  This will be good!

Estimated cost:  whatever you can afford.  French Wine runs $8 and up at Binny's, and you can split the cost of a bottle with a friend, if you like.  You can team up on the food too, of course.    A little food, something French, or just something good, whatever you like!  It doesn't have to be expensive.

French food, like the wine, is very "regional"- that is to say the food along the Mediterranean Coast (Provence, etc.) is very different from the North, say the Loire Valley or Alsace-Lorraine.

Thank you Donna! Thank you Tanisha for a GREAT and informative presentation on France!
Tonight is the "Value Wine Tasting" at Binny's on 95th street (5-8p, no charge).
Next informal meetup is on the square in Oak Park this Sunday evening. Meet about 6ish to get a good spot - Ryan will post details. There will be several of these this summer, along with some Wednesday evenings downtown at the Pritzker Auditorium in Grant Park.
Next meetup is going to be at BEVART, evening seminar on winemaking and blending. I'm going to confirm the date and post it today (or tomorrow at the latest). Cheers! Chris

Hi Maureen RSVPS closed Monday evening and there are a couple of potential add ons from my end. Bringing the total to 20. Not sure why your rsvp would not have logged but if someone cancels you will move up.... Only so much space that will make it comfortable.

If only 16 attending why am I on the wait list? I did rsvp a week or more ago. Did it not go thru?

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
