Tuesday PRG Session

 

Gym climbing sessions are great for keeping in climbing shape, work on your technique, and socializing with other climbers.

I am normally at PRG on Tuesday nights with a few regulars and both new and experienced climbers alike are welcome to join.  I'm keeping this pretty simple: show up at PRG between 6:30pm and 9pm and meet up with some fellow climbers, climb some routes, partake in some cheerful banters, share beta, and climb some more, then if there are enough interested, head out to Four Peaks (1/4 mile away) for some food and drinks (around 9-10pm).

Basic FAQ:

- Are new climbers welcome?

Yes.  If you are feeling unsure or intimidated, put a comment in the post mentioning that you are new and would need some help so we'll know to look for you. Once at the gym, the PRG staff will get you a waiver and provide you basic belaying technique and climbing knowledge.  After that, grab a SCAB climbing partner and climb something.

- Do I need gear? How much does it cost.

The gym rents harnesses, shoes and carabiners.  SCAB members get a $10 day pass which can include gear if you need it and all memberships are at the Student Pricing.  The full price sheet is on the PRG website.

- How do I find the members?

Please look at the list of RSVP so that you have an idea of who's coming. Then when you get there, get a hold of the event organizer for help.  I leave a SCAB sign next to my gear on the ground in the middle of the rope area.  It's a good spot to find me and the other members.

- But I have more questions

e-mail the event organizer or put them in the event comments.  We'll do our best to answer all questions.

    Sorry, no training plan for this week. Just too busy at work. Just come and climb your heart out. I will put a plan together for the next 4 weeks.

    Also if there is still some interest, I will redo another Basics Of Movement Climbing class next week.
