Tuesday PRG Gym Session
Phoenix Rock Gym - Tempe AZ
Gym climbing sessions are great for keeping in climbing shape, work on your technique, and socializing with other climbers.
This is one of the weekly scheduled SCAB gym session. New climbers and experienced ones are welcome to join in. I'm keeping this pretty simple: show up at PRG between 6:30pm and 9pm and meet up with some fellow climbers, climb some routes, partake in some cheerful banters, share beta, and climb some more, then if there are enough interested, head out to Four Peaks (1/4 mile away) for some food and drinks (around 9pm). Don't be shy. The PRG front desk can help you find the organizers (Brandi or Chase).
If that sounds good to you, then RSVP and come and join us.
- Are new climbers welcome?
Yes. If you are feeling unsure or intimidated, put a comment in the post mentioning that you are new and would need some help so we'll know to look for you. If you have never been to PRG before, you will have to sign a waiver and watch a safety video. If you are new to climbing, the PRG staff will teach you how to belay. Come and talk to the SCAB organizers for any help or if you need a belay partner. After the belay checkout, grab a SCAB climbing partner and climb something.
- Do I need gear? How much does it cost.
The gym rents harnesses, shoes and carabiners for $5. SCAB members get a discounted $10 day-pass if you already have gear. Memberships are available as well and a 10-visit pass is discounted to $85. Please see the PRG front desk for information.
- How do I find the members?
Please look at the list of RSVP so that you have an idea of who's coming. Then when you get there, get a hold of the event organizer for help. You should be able to find Brandi, Chase, or Alex. We normally gather around the tables around 6:30pm. If you have any trouble or came after 6:30pm, ask the front desk at PRG and they can help you find SCAB crew.
- But I have more questions
e-mail the event organizer or put them in the event comments. We'll do our best to answer all questions.
