Trek in the Park Finale

This is a Multi-Meetup Event with PDX Gaymers, Soyboys, and Portland Metro Veggies. Bring a game or picnic food to share with everyone. Feel free to arrive as early as you can to reserve a spot.  I'll likely be at the park around noon with my big quilt.

From the Atomic Arts website (http://www.atomic-arts.org):

Trek in the Park’s Five-Year-Mission CONCLUDES! Over the last 4 summers, Atomic Arts has energized Portland to strange new worlds where no audience has gone before and it has all led to this- THE TROUBLE WITH TRIBBLES!

As Kirk and his crew attempt to settle a political dispute on a far off space station, they quickly realize their problems don’t stop there as they have to deal with Federation brass, tempestuous Klingons, and tiny, furry creatures who are adorable, hungry and… multiplying.

Portland actors accompanied with live music and effects bring this classic piece of pop culture to life at historic and picturesque Cathedral Park under the St. Johns Bridge!

FREE TO THE PUBLIC. ALL AGES WELCOME.

Saturday at 5:00pm (If you want to sit together, arrive at 3:00 or earlier because it will be crowded!)
AUGUST 24, Cathedral Park Amphitheater

(The amphitheater is located under the St. Johns bridge at the corner of N Pittsburgh in N Portland)

The Saturday 8/24 show will feature a special post-show live musical performance by THE DOUBLECLICKS!!

Spend a day in the park, bring a picnic and BOLDLY GO!

As of this comment, we have 17 gaymer, 7 Soy Boys and 18 Veggies for a total of 42 people coming to this Mega Meetup Mashup on Saturday. I hope that there will be tons of fun games and food to share with everyone. As a courtesy, please remember to change your RSVP if you are unable to make it.

So is there any chat about who's bringing what? I was thinking, if acceptable, of bringing a pie. It's a fruit, and has 2 other major food groups (salt and fat). :-)

I could also bring some hummus and chips. Which, every time I think of that, I am reminded of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where Cordelia says "That's my thing, I bring chips and dip. I'm the dip girl!" Where upon Zander says something along the lines of "That's just too easy."

really, not enough room, even extending all the down to the beach?

Well, sure you could go down by the water, but the stage and show isn't near there. The idea is to get there early, eat and play games while waiting for the show to begin. But once the show begins, it's going to be packed. The last time I went there was barely room to even sit. This show is the last one ever and there is a free concert immediately afterwards from the Doubleclicks so I'm pretty sure it's going to be busy.
