Please join us for a birding field trip to St Sebastian River Preserve State Park in southern Brevard County. We will be birding the yellow trail looking for Red-cockaded Woodpecker, Brown-headed Nuthatch, Bachman's Sparrow, and many others. There is also a possibility of seeing several mammals including armadillos, white-tailed deer, wild hogs, and maybe (if we are lucky) a river otter or manatee.
We will meet at 8am at the visitor center that is south on Babcock Rd (County Rd 507) out of Melbourne (north out of Fellsmere). Turn east just north of the canal that separates Brevard Co and Indian River Co. The visitors center will be clearly visible just after you turn. If you need more (better) directions then please let me know. This is the website for the park which includes a map (http://www.floridastateparks.org/stsebastianriver/).
As for all field trips - bring binoculars, water, snacks, bug dope, sunscreen, and good walking shoes. We will be hiking ~3-5 miles.
