Group Rules and Other Fun Stuff

1.) Membership in SpaceCoast Gal Pals is for women only. There are plenty of other groups that allow men and women to connect but this particular group is for women who want to develop friendships with other women. Men who try to join will be contacted and their account deleted. Along the same lines, SpaceCoast Gal Pals is not for women who are looking for other women for romantic relationships. We have absolutely no judgements about anyone's sexual orientation or preferences, but this group is meant to be a safe place for women who want to get together and make friends.

2.) Although membership in SpaceCoast Gal pals is restricted to women, there may occasionally be events that will allow members to invite their spouses, significant others, and/or children. Events that allow male-friends and or children should be specifically marked as such. All other events are for women only. As always, please indicate how many extra people you will be bringing with you.

3.) If you schedule a meetup on SpaceCoast Gal Pals, you will be marked as the Event Host. It will be your responsiblity to communicate with all attendees about the meetup, as needed.

4.) If you schedule a meetup on SpaceCoast Gal Pals, please do not cross-post it on other meetups. Doing so does not allow our members to get a good idea of who is attending.

5.) Please do not solicit our members for other ‘causes’. This includes work, raising money for fund raisers, your child’s soccer team, other meet-up groups, etc... Under no circumstances is this meet-up group to be used as a means to promote a business and/or sell a product. There are other ‘networking’ type of meet-up groups for such purposes. Violation of this rule is cause for removal from group.

6.) Our group more than likely consists a great deal of diversity, ranging from different ages, religious beliefs, nationalities, sexual preference, political affiliations, socio-economic status, etc... That being said, please respect each person's ‘uniqueness’ as you would want yours respected. Discrimination and/or defamation will not be tolerated, and is cause for immediate removal from the group.

7.) In order to avoid problems and heated discussions, the topics of religion and politics should be limited.

8.) The purpose of this group is to be a FUN, positive place for women to come together to meet and socialize. Let's do our best to BE our best for each other.

9.) If an event does NOT specify KID FRIENDLY please make other childcare arrangements.

10.) If there are less than 4 people RSVP'd to an event within 48 hours of an event, it may be canceled at the discretion of the event host.

11.) When planning events we often need to know how many people will be in attendance especially at events that have limited spaces available. Please make sure to unRSVP as soon as you know you can no longer make an event. No shows will be marked and excessive no shows may be grounds for removal from the group.

12.) Please be respectful of the planned time of an event. If you know you will be late please write a note in the comments section of the event, or contact the event host. Often the tendency is to wait for all who have RSVP'd before starting an event depending on the specifics so keep that in mind if you decide to be late or no show that people are waiting for you. Reach out and make contact.


Suggestions

1.) Please be willing to consider organizing and/or hosting meet-up events for this group. As the group’s organizer, I am always open to suggestions for events. However, please understand that I can’t guarantee that I will always have the time or energy to turn every suggestion into an official meet-up. That being said, I am of the belief that the overall success of any group is as dependent on the amount of effort that the participants are willing to put into it, as it is on the efforts put forth by its organizer. In other words, this group can only be as good as WE are willing and able to make it.
