Agree with Bill- the walk along the "Barge Canal" was great as was the other side of the Sykes Creek Watershed. I'm not one to like retracing steps.

probably close to nine, we are driving from West Cocoa down hwy 520 so there could be traffic issues but it should be close.

I looked at Ulumay today and the section that was re-done two years ago has grown back nicely, trouble is, a little further there is some serious maintenance in work leaving the trail kind of rough. Bottom line, lets go a little out of the way and do an all new trail. Start at King's Park in Merritt Island off of south SR-3 and east on Chase Hammock Rd. and do the Pioneer Trail then walk a few feet down Hall Road and do a bit of the trail on the EEL Kabboord Sanctuary, a total of about six miles through the Sykes Creek headwater marsh. It's all on dikes so totally dry, it,s also mostly in full sun so bring a hat and sunscreen.

Meet as before at the new Sams Club in Cocoa at 8:30 AM, the drive is about 14 miles which should get us to the trailhead a little before nine. We will probably be done before noon so lunch is optional but King's Park has a small pavilion overlooking a lake so one could do an early lunch there or stop at King's Duck Inn down the road a bit. Bring snacks and something to drink and if desired, lunch.
