Reunámonos para hablar español e inglés (The Central)

Let's go to The Central for some great conversation and food.

As you know, our meetups are meant to practise conversation in both Spanish and English. Depending on who is hosting, we may also have fun activities around learning the language.

So be sure to bring a notebook and pen to jot down words, phrases, tips and advice from our friendly native speakers. All levels are welcome. So if you're just starting out or haven't used the language for a while, then come just to hang out and listen. You'll be glad you did!

Our goal is to speak as much Spanish and English as we can. If you chat with a native speaker from the other language, be sure to offer to switch languages and practise both English and Spanish. Some people are shy about asking to practice in their second language, and our meetings are meant to practise both languages.

There is no cost to join us at our meetings. We only ask that you bring your friendliness and enthusiasm. :)

A reminder not to bring in outside food and drinks.

See you Saturday!

    Hi all,
By popular demand, our reading comprehension Tertulia returns! This Saturday we will read a new short story:"El Fantasma de la Calle El Conde", by Dominican author Pedro Peix. Special thanks to Spanglish's resident writer William Almonte for the selection!

You can find a copy of the story at http://files.meetup.com/1429917/El%20Fantasma%20de%20la%20Calle%20El%20Conde.pdf

A reminder that our Tertulia is an optional 45' segment for intermediate-advanced Spanish speakers. Our goal is to motivate reading comprehension, improve our listening skills and vocabulary, and engage in discussion of different topics - all while learning about Iberoamerican literature.

If you wish to participate, just download and bring a printed copy to the meetup. We'll have a designated table to take turns reading and discussing the story. Hope to see you there!
