Reunámonos para hablar español e inglés (Rose and Crown)

Please note the location update! We'll be going to Rose and Crown around the Yonge/Eglinton area.

At Spanglish meetups we practise conversation in Spanish and English in a relaxed and fun atmosphere, with occasional activities around learning the language. So whether you're a seasoned polyglot or just starting speaking out, you can find friendly people to practice with.

And no, there is no cost to join us at our meetings! We only ask that you support our venues having a meal or beverage, and come ready - with your friendliness and enthusiasm. :)

A reminder: when you chat with a native speaker from the other language, be sure to offer to switch languages and practise both English and Spanish. And if you are just learning, feel free to hang out, listen and jot down tips. You'll be glad you did!

See you Saturday ;)

    Hi all,
For those interested in our Tertulia segment, this Saturday we will read a new short story:"El sexo de los Angeles", by Uruguayan author Mario Benedetti. As always, our bilingual author and friend William Almonte will join us for a quick group reading and discussion.

You can find a copy of the story at http://files.meetup.com/1429917/Short%20story%20-%20El%20Sexo%20de%20los%20Angeles.pdf

A reminder that this is an optional 30' segment for intermediate-advanced Spanish speakers wishing to improve their reading and listening comprehension, all while discovering new literature in our language. If you wish to participate, just download and bring a printed copy to the meetup. Around 2:00 pm, we'll move to a designated table to take turns reading and discussing the story. Hope to see you there!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
