Spanglish Toronto Meetup Message Board › Movies and spring activities at Spanglish Toronto!
Sunny weather is finally upon us, and with it our organizer minds are buzzing with new ideas! So while we iron out the details, let me give you a heads up of what's coming for Spanglish Toronto this spring:
- New locations (same time): Our group keeps growing and that means looking for ways to improve our meetup rotation for all of you. Starting April, we've added Rose and Crown at Yonge/Eg, to our traditional locations at the Annex (The Central) and the Junction (3030 Dundas West). Also, we'll start all our Saturday meetups at 1pm, to make things easier for those wishing to get the most activity (or sleep) of your Saturday mornings. Three locations and the same time, an easier way to join us regardless of where you are.
- More outdoor fun: Coming May, our festival and foodie hangouts are back! Like last year, we will be adding to our calendar new festivals in the city featuring music and art in Spanish - including outings to explore the surprising food of Latin America. And to top it, we will host our second Spanglish at High Park - and this time with a picnic - asado/parrillada/churrasco style! So if you are an artsy/foodie type at heart and have any ideas to share, reach out to us!
- More movies: Spring also brings back film festivals to Toronto, and we'll be on the look for new Spanish movies showing in town. Meanwhile, for those of you who missed our monthly movies, el cine returns this Saturday to 3030 Dundas West! Starting at 1:30 we will be watching Nueve reinas (Nine queens), from Argentina, a modern classic of con movies.
And to top your matinee, our friends at 3030 will have complimentary coffee for your order. So come watch, discuss and get a bite with us!
As always, feel free to drop us a line and let us know what you think. Nos vemos este sábado!
