I have always loved languages, I studied Russian in college and studied abroad there in order to immerse myself in the language and culture. These Spanish events (I've checked them out on Facebook :)) look like a blast and I know it is more fun and productive to learn a language while in the context of having a good time. I have been studying Spanish on my own for about a year and half and took a class targeting "Social Work" because that is what I do. I work with children from all over the world, but the majority of them come from Central America. They have taught me so much and are the main inspiration for learning Spanish and they are why I began to learn Spanish last year. I am now committed to learning and becoming fluent one day in this beautiful language. I plan to live abroad next year in Peru, teaching English and immersing myself in everything around me.
I am from the United States-born in Santa Barbara, California, my family moved to a few different states before settling down in Manhattan, KS. As the oldest I ventured up here to Chicago after graduating college.
I am 27 years old.
Bueno :) This is my 5th yr in Chicago. I love my friends, yoga, reading, the beach (specifically looking for fossils and sea glass), dancing, -I guess I like to have fun and meet people in the process. And I LOVE Spanish.
