This group is for all parents of young children who are interested in nurturing an early learning of the Spanish language in their children. "Early research suggested that learning two languages in early childhood is detrimental to a child's cognitive abilities. This was due to the idea that the two languages were learned independently and the knowledge of learning one did not transfer into the other".

I am a working mom of a adventurous 4 year old, and have tried to join other mommy groups, but cannot find the time or flexibility to be able to attend the outings and playdates during the weekdays.  But, I love the idea of outings with other families, and wanted to create a group that caters to working moms and offer the opportunity for our children to hear and possible use the Spanish language.

Let's meet and offer each other support on how we can help our children become or stay bilingual and biliterate.  Group settings can offer children the opportunity to interact with other children, hear and speak Spanish.  All parents and languages welcome. 

Our group is committed to offering outings, gatherings, and other activities that offer young children the opportunity to engage in Spanish speaking.  Most of the outings and events are scheduled for weekends and evenings and are held at the preschool in North Hills.  Other outings around the L.A area are also scheduled.  Some of these meetings at the school will offer the opportunity to participate in music classes, mommy and me classes, parenting workshops, arts & crafts, cooking with children and other family friendly activities.  Mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighboors, and the whole family and community are welcome.
