My mom is from Nicaragua, and my dad is from Mexico. I lived in LA for 5 years and I was in ESL until I was in third grade. So Spanish has been around me most of my life, however, most of my friends don't speak Spanish. I have three siblings but we would never dare speak to Spanish to each other cuz they are also in the same boat(the boat of shame of sounding like idiots cuz they don't know their first language...so sad!) Well, the only exception to that rule is if we really wanted to talk sh*t about some one.
Let's just say I can understand most of it, but i don't really know the rules, and I tend to forget the words when i need them the most. I took a beginning Spanish class about three years ago as I was told to by my instructor and It was a waste of time. I felt like a show off because I could have honestly learned the class in two weeks so there wasn't much of a challenge(is that how you TAG students felt in school?) So what I would like from this club is to maybe be able to help some of the novice speakers while learning from some of the more advanced speakers the proper way to speak.
Hi there! I am going back to school in the fall and would like to practice my Spanish so that I can place in a higher class. My Spanish is rusty and it is actually my first language, but since I don't use it often, I tend to forget...
