Speakeasy Toastmasters Meeting

Come join us for personal development in a supportive environment. Practice your public speaking, give Table Topics a try, or just come for fun among friends.

Don't forget to bring your Competent Leadership handbook so you can get credit for your involvement. Although participation as a meeting functionary is voluntary, we encourage you to check the agenda for vacancies.

We meet on the first and third Wednesday of every month at 6:45 pm. You can find us in the Elaine Center of 20 North Maple Street in Hadley.

I would like to know what a typical meeting is like. What happens?

We typically have 3-4 prepared speeches at a meeting. Most are 5-7 minutes depending on the goals of the speech. People speak about the topic of their own choice. Hobbies, storytelling, informative speaking are among the many possible aproaches.

Of course, there is more to a meeting. We have table topics, where people try speaking for a minute or two about a topic just given to them. This is one of the most fun parts and gives everyone a chance to participate. If you come on May 7, you can find out how a meeting goes. I think you will enjoy it.
