I started this Meetup group because I am concerned about Species Extinction and I wanted to meet other people that cared about species biodiversity. I also wanted to meet people interested in topics like animal rights, climate change and taking care of our environment in general...
This group is to connect like minded folks, kind spirits and people interested in talking about this and maybe even getting active and trying to make a difference. For example, one thing I am currently involved with is a non profit by the name of Species Alliance who are making a MOVIE about Species Extinction called the Call Of Life, Facing the Mass Extinction.
This will be the first movie ever on Species Extinction and Species Alliance is is almost done with this film. This documentary will raise the general publics' awareness about this crucial topic. The next showing is in Santa Cruz on Friday August 7th at 7 pm at the Louden Nelson Community Center at 301 Center St. PLEASE COME. RSVP here or at 408 605 4031 Larry or SolarLarz@gmail.com Runtime is 1 Hr 30 Minutes. Species Alliance and the director will be there.
The film is amazing and just needs to be completed. It is on par with Al Gore's film, An Inconvenient Truth, about Climate Change. This film will have a great impact on the consciousness of many people. I am trying to raise awareness, network and raise funds so that they can complete their film.
Please go to www.SpeciesAlliance.org and view the short preview of the movie if you are interested.
I think I got a bit off the general topic of this Meetup group, but I think that example gives a general idea of the things we might want to discuss. I thought if we could get a few folks to meet we might be able to make a positive impact on issues that are green and make some friends along the way!
Thank you,
Namaste
Larry
