Splunk for the People - Introducing Splunk Enterprise 6.0

Join Illuminate360 for our next Metro Atlanta Splunk User Group meetup.

Here's your chance to spend 2 hours with Splunk users over lunch to share Splunk stories, network, and learn some tips and tricks for getting the most out of Splunk.

Splunk Architects, Colleen Paine from Illuminate360 and Ed Jividen from Splunk, will present the new features and functionality of Splunk 6.0, including:

• New features such as integrated maps and predictive analytics

• Pivot and Data Models that enable non-technical users

• Richer developer environment to easily extend the platform with big data apps

See how this powerful big data platform allows you to search, correlate, and visualize disparate data across your entire environment, and deliver operational intelligence to everyone.

This MeetUp is for anyone interested in Splunk.  Whether you're new to Splunk or a veteran Splunker, you'll enjoy networking and learning how others are using this big data platform.

We'll provide lunch, drinks, and Splunk T-shirts! Just bring your curiosity and a healthy appetite.

Gang: I'm happy to present / give a tech-deep demo on how to get stateful L2-7 wire data (e.g. SOAP/XML calls, DB transactions, TCP/IP events) into Splunk, and why the model is so powerful for OpsIntel. Just let me know if there's some interest and we'll make it happen.

Thanks again for having me, sorry I had to bug out early...

I think start from the basics then lead into the more techy info based on the % of the audience that Splunk said is a new product. Maybe even show a video from Splunk that introduces the product to newbies. Overall it was interesting, keep up the good work on networking :)

Needed clearer information on how to get to the meet up. Content was good though! Highly look forward to the next meet

All, looks like I'm taking Ed's speaking slot. I'm open to talking about anything that I've got a tiny bit of expertise in. We can expand on v6 stuff that Colleen leads with, and I figure we'll delve into Splunk app dev and data onboarding best practices. Can also talk about working with a few cool modular inputs that I've been playing with lately.

If you have other ideas, please reply to this thread.

I can talk about working with the SNMP modular input if anyone's interested in the topic.
