Spring Cleaning Fabric Swap!

Spring is right around the corner! Get a jump on your spring cleaning and overhaul your fabric stash with friends!

Please join us in the Greenhouse for our first fabric swap as we mix, mingle, barter and finally unload those fabrics and notions that have been collecting dust!

How it works:

Bring scraps or notions that you just need to unload and put them on the appropriate tables. Once everyone's contributed, we'll take a few minutes to walk around and "shop", and then we'll start the swap. Everyone is free to take the same number of items they put into the swap!

If you have yardage that you'd like to swap but are hesitant to take a chance in the free for all, never fear! We will have a separate section for people to bring bigger pieces of fabric so you can negotiate a fair swap with others who have more yardage to trade.

Any fabric or notions that are left after the swap will be donated to the Scrap Exchange in Durham.

Please let us know what type of fabric or notions you'll be bringing so we have a rough idea what we need for organization and set up. Also, feel free to bring friends! The more the merrier!

So please come and build your stash and your network of local crafters! We're looking forward to a [slightly] less cluttered new season!

Spring cleaning? Ha! I came home with more fabric than I brought. So much for spring cleaning.

Great event, thanks so much to Becca and Spoonflower for hosting. I loved the tour, that was an unexpected bonus.

Excited to see everyone tomorrow afternoon! We will have the following categories for our swap set up tomorrow:

    *swatches & scraps
*light-weight fabric, smaller than 1 yard
    *light-weight fabric, 1-2 yards
    *light-weight fabric, 2-3 yards
    *heavy weight fabric
    *fun fabric
    *buttons, trim & assorted notions
    *donations

For larger runs of fabric, we'll have space for you to negotiate a trade.
    Looking forward to it!

I don't have much since I moved to America a few month back. Is it possible to come and buy some scarp fabric?

    February 27, 2013

    • Spoonflower E.

Hi Virginie, for this event we'll be sticking to a swap. Some folks may be bringing scraps to unload rather than swap, so feel free to come and check it out even if you don't have pieces to trade. Thanks for checking!

Is there room to bring yarn?

    February 11, 2013

    • Spoonflower E.

Hi Ginger! I am so glad you're coming to the swap! I think we will stick to fabric this time and see how it goes. Maybe we can do another that will include yarn later-- I desperately need to unload some of my yarn stash, too! Thanks for checking!
