Two weeks ago I met Vinnie at the cafe near the Grand Central Station. I asked him to watch my Mac Pro and luggage while I found a plug to charge my iPhone. I sat down and had the most wonderful 2 hour conversation in a very long time. He was genuine as he shared from his heart and described his driving into work 1 1/2 hours one way each day from Westpoint to Grand Central and keep the plumbing working. He shared how his wife is religious and he was not. It was uncunning , his relationship with his wife mirrored mine with my boyfriend. He taught me to be open and not be defensive and to listen with an open heart. He shared how his wife is very generous and always helping others; anyone who needed help, she would give though they don't have much. He didn't want to give his last name or contact info. I've returned to NYC recently and dig and keep digging around and finally found out his last name; I will give his wife a gift to thank her for her kindness.
I live by the philosophy I want to leave the earth better than the way I've found it.
