Movies at Route 66 Drive In

Summer is slowly winding down. The drive in features 2 movies for $7 and you can bring your own food and drinks. No more rattling speakers to hang on your car door. You simply tune your car's radio to the appropriate channel and viola, instant surround sound from the comfort of your car! Bring folding chairs if you'd like to experience the great outdoors.

So we lost 2 of our members, but that was fine. The remaining 6 had a great time. I need to find a perfect spot for my roll of napkins.... LOL Thanks for coming out.

My bright idea is to have the group meet before entering the drive in. Those who want to group up can do so in fewer vehicles. I usually grab a pizza on the way out and fill my cooler with drinks. There is a concession stand where goods are sold, but I don't frequent it. Sooooo...let's meet in the Walmart parking lot on 6th street around 630 and leave for the drive in by 7. The gates open at 715 and we can take our choice of spots, set up camp and wait for the film to roll. Bring folding camp chairs and a blanket or sweater if you'd like to sit outside the vehicles. Any questions, let me know! My cell is[masked]

They are calling for thunderstorms at 6 pm. Also, which movies are we planning to go to?

Is this new or old? It says tomorrow's date but the info section says summer is winding down?

Not likely as the movie will end after 1 am or so.

I'm missing the part where people actually meet. Is it after the movie? Are we getting a bus, as discussed? Lol.

Sri, we will meet as a group somewhere before going to the drive in. I wasn't sure if the weather would be a factor, so I was waiting until Friday evening to post our pre-meet up location. A bus? At the drive in? LMAO

Which screen Lincoln & Oz, or Django & Identity Thief?

I'm a veteran of Rt66DI and yes, you can switch, but you have to be careful of run times. One doesn't always finish before the other side starts

I actually really enjoyed Django & Lincoln as well. What a great opening weekend!

It's showtime! Curtains go up at the drive in this weekend. Yay! Are we still interested? Will the weather cooperate? Let's see what happens by Friday night. If nothing else, we can select another weekend....
