What instrument do you play and how long have you been playing, are you a singer?

I play acoustic guitar, basic accompaniment for singing. Also harmonica, nothing fancy. How long playing? hmm...... 40 plus years.. I do sing - country, folk, similar contemporary material and blues tinged country music from the 1930's.

Do you view yourself as a mentor or one who will benefit more from practicing with others?

Now that I have been to the Meetup a few times, I am taking harmonica seriously and have come to view myself as clearly one who will benefit from practicing with others... a mentor, someday, as I do enjoy sharing what I learn.

How can this Meetup group best benefit you personally? What most would you like to see occur at Meetups to ensure this is a great experience?

These Meetups are new to me. I'm looking forward to meeting good folks and making some music.

How long have you been listening to blues music? What Blues songs would you most like to play?

My first Blues heroes were Sonny and Brownie. My grandmother gave me a record of theirs in the 1960s. It had "Folk Songs" in the title. She thought I might like that. It was spot on. Have listened to a range of mostly acoustic blues. The blues influenced country music of Jimmie Rodgers (late 20's, early 30's) and others had a big impact on me.

Do you get along well with others? What will you do to ensure that this is the best Meetup Group?

I do get along well with others.

This meetup is close to my home and sounds like great fun. I have been bringing harps to jams lately as there are generally enough guitar players.
