Greetings once again Pub Goers,
We are fortunate in St Albans to have a particularly fine Beer and Cider Festival. To quote the website "The premier event in the Hertfordshire drinkers calendar is back! The number of real ales on offer runs into the hundreds and is complimented by a vast selection of ciders, perries, bottle conditioned beers and a selection from around the world."
(So, probably a challenge for you wine drinkers. I checked - there's no wine. For soft drinkers the Alban Arena sell soft drinks such as Coke, bottled water etc. from their refectory area)
• There's also food
The fest runs Weds to Sat. We shall be going Thursday evening to avoid waiting at the bar. Also, the Faith Stealers are playing (9.00 - 10.30). Note that there's a downstairs foreign beer bar if we find we still prefer a quiet chat.
Entry is £3, unless you are a woolly jumpered CAMRA (CAMpaign for Real Ale) card holder (then it's free). That'll be me then :) But consider joining if £20 of free weatherspoon vouchers interests you.
Here's the festival website for more detail: http://stalbansbeerfestival.org.uk/
And location map for the Alban Arena: https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?safe=off&q=albans+arena&ie=UTF-8&ei=7mAcUuiFGZGa0AW8yYCAAw&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAg
Not sure how busy it will be, so how easy it is to find us may be a bit random. However, here's my initial plan:
• Walk through to main beer festival hall
• Aim for the left hand side of the hall (left as you walk in)
• Locate me looking for my red dragon t-shirt
Quick update: was there last night (Weds). It didn't get too busy - I expect similar for tonight The plan will be to maintain a position on the LHS of the main hall (looking at the stage bar). More precisely, at the LHS of the Cider bar.
Any problems finding us phone/text me on[masked]
