Presentation on XSS

At the next 2600 meeting one of our members, Kyle, will be giving us a presentation on cross-site scripting (XSS)!

Kyle hasn't gotten back to me yet with everything he'll be covering during his presentation, so I'm just going to assume he will be giving out a free puppy and $100 cash to everyone in attendance next Friday! Yay!!

Addendum...

Kyle finally submitted his summary:

"In 2005, a worm spread across MySpace.com, infecting over 20 million user profiles in 20 hours.  That worm was written in javascript and was a cross site scripting (XSS) attack.

XSS attacks can take many forms, and can be difficult to defend against.  For that reason, we’ll be covering how XSS attacks work, how to defend against them, and general security practice in relation to XSS attacks.

If time permits, will practice XSS attacks in a practice environment.  All that will be needed is a computer with a capable web browser."

Unfortunately, no mention of puppies...
