Next Step OS

Note: Back to our usual start time and day of week.

This year, Apple's WWDC (developer conference) was all about the next version of its two linked systems: OS X 10.10 (aka Yosemite) and iOS 8. We will review what's new (Continuity!), what's staying the same, and how it might affect how you work, share data and media, and even track your health. Features like Mail Drop, Handoff, unified Messages, and Instant Hotspot - along with a list of enterprise enhancements - can help shave off the rough edges of an increasingly mobile, multi-device workplace.

Although it's not an end-user feature, we will also briefly cover the biggest surprise of the event - Apple's introduction of a new programming language, Swift, and what it could mean to future app offerings.

Come out for a summer meal, a cool drink, and a discussion of the future of Apple's ecosystem!

Much as I want to see the latest out of NeXT, I'm going to have to beg off this time. Will be at vim geeks meeting. I will be watching for my late Beta application to be answered!
