Looks like ripple is about to take another ride upward in price. Was just announced that zipzap will soon be converting it's 700,000 locations around the world into fiat ripple gateways. You hand them cash (via CVS or some other merchant) and suddenly have liquidity in your ripple wallet. No bank account needed! More details will be provided on thursday at the Ripple Devcon in Las Vegas.

Looks like it's going to be just the 4 of us (Chris, Joe, Adam, and myself) as Leyla can't make it either. I'll be bringing my new Piper bitcoin wallet printer to show you all. See you tonight!

In case people are coming because they need bitcoin, I can sell at prices a little better than Mt.Gox market value. There are cheaper ways to go but not as fast, unless you already have the right accounts linked up, etc.

Parking is free from 7pm downtown, and it doesn't take bitcoin anyway. So don't feed the meter or pay for parking.

CORRECTION: ripples have jumped 100% in three days. So glad i dumped my bitcoins in right before the rise. Go ripple... go ripple!!!

Btw, folks, with a ripple wallet filled with ripples you can send any currency (fiat or crypto) to any other ripple wallet (even if you aren't holding that currency. Ripple just finds the cheapest paths through the built in peer-to-peer orderbooks. And you can send bitcoins from that wallet to any bitcoin address through the cheapest path. Did i mention ... Go Ripple!!! If anyone is interested but seeks help or advice on how to get any of that set up, i'm happy to be of assistance. See you at the dubliner.

I think it's all part of the anti-ddos protection, which i hear is strong. too expensive to overload the network with bot wallets

Yeah baby. Ripples jumped 50% in the last 48h (they're now at about 12k ripples per bitcoin (from 24K). There is a video on the forums of the chief business developer at opencoin saying (at a bitcoin meetup in NYC about a week ago) that they're open-sourcing the technology before the end of the month ("by the 26th"). Uh huh, yeeeeah! Meanwhile here's some awesome bitcoin humor:
