I'm interested in intentional community for the people and the sharing. I think it's a more environmentally friendly way to live, on the whole, sharing many common resources, but most important is that living in community is inspiring. You feel that big projects and careful living make sense when done together, when it can seem crazy or a drag when done as an individual.
As far as organizing how to get this actually done, I have a lot of energy, and enthusiasm, and I've already lived one success story, so I know it can happen. It should be able to happen, because there's so much great real estate in st. Louis. I'd really love to talk to people about how to make this a reality. I have capital help available through family connections, tons of energy for construction and rehab (and green building) experience with permaculture landscaping, as well as organizing, negotiating, mediation, and consensus facilitation - many other key skills for intentional living! Let's do this thing!
Hi! I lived in a retrofit intentional community in Oakland, CA, and it was great. Living in community makes me feel more alive and inspires me to take fun household projects to the next level, because it's for everybody!
