Building Flowing Storyline

Many games aren't just a series of levels with simple objectives to complete, and event those that are can benefit from a story line that connects the levels and game play together.

I would like to have a chance to focus on the different ways story line can be used to enhance game play, help guild the player, and help keep the game focused in one direction event through a series of levels that present different challenge types and aspects of the game.

Got to say it went well, event if the three of us had planned our presentations separately. It went to show the complexity of good storytelling, and how to better convey your part of the story to the players.

REST EASY! You can now access the Complete, un-abridged version of my presentation here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/17R3TtcnrwU5BV4JELVoO_70Oeu4Xn1g2lbXVtA9ikC8/edit?usp=sharing

I'd love to know what you thought... I threw it together in about a day based on my personal experiences.

A story line is the main point in adventure games. I am looking for story tellers. I like to program adventure games.

I can help out with this if you need it (whoever suggested this meetup) since I've done my fair share of storyline writing lol

I'm curious how this tool works:

    http://www.nevigo.com/en/articydraft/

It doesn't have to be part of the discussion, but if someone has experience with it or would like to play around with the demo and offer impressions I'd like to hear them.

Well, since I was the person who originally suggested this topic, I went ahead and put together a basic Power Point for it with some of the more common ways to set up the story line, and some of the pitfalls of the different story line formats, and the pitfalls that a lot of people get stuck in. I would like to do this as a joint presentation with some of the others, but would also welcome the help to further fill out the list of story line formats and patterns.

Also it seems we are still in need of a place and time to host this, if anyone has any suggestions to that.
