Concordia Seminary in Clayton is a fantastic place to view, appreciate, and photographic some classic Gothic style architecture. It is a campus style environment so there is plenty to see and photograph.
I am setting the meetup time for Saturday morning the 13th at 7 AM so we can get some decent light and beat the heat. According to the forecast there is no rain in the schedule with a high of about 90 for the day. Let's hope for some clouds early in the morning. Let's meet in the parking lot by the main tower. You can't miss the massive tower and there is a huge iron bell in the courtyard there where we will assemble.
I will be using 4x5 large format gear for this outing doing long exposure techniques to try and present an ethereal and peaceful feeling. I will be using FP4+ and Acros and will hand develop in Pyrocat HD for maximum tonal scale. The reason I use film in a case like this is because of the extended tonal scale range that I cannot get with my digital equipment. In addition, by using large format I don't have to worry about geometrical distortion issues.
I would bring your widest lens as well as a telephoto to capture the endless amount of detail available.
This will be a fun outing and I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.
To help offset the cost of using the meetup service, if you would donate a buck or two that would be helpful, but not required.
