TUESDAY NIGHT BIKE RIDES – KIRKWOOD
Date:  Every Tuesday Through September 30
Time:  6 PM
Location: Alpine Shop – Kirkwood
Fee:  Free
Join us every Tuesday night, April - September, at 6 pm for one of two great rides presented in conjunction with Trailnet.  Both rides depart from the parking lot at our Kirkwood store, 440 N. Kirkwood Rd.  The short ride is a "no-drop" ride of 12+ miles that travels mainly on back streets/roads and Grant’s Trail.. This route is rated as easy and on mostly flat terrain so it is suitable for the less experienced rider who enjoys and easier route without the challenge of big hills.  This is a no-drop ride.  Riders of all skill levels are welcome, so what are you waiting for? Come join us.
The second ride is for the experienced serious rider who wants a more challenging route with hills and longer distances.  This ride is 29 miles in length and features steep climbs.  This is a drop ride so be sure of your capabilities if you choose this ride. For more information call the shop at[masked]-7715.

Wondering what drop ride and no drop ride means?

A no-drop ride means no one left behind. Someone stays w slowest rider. Conversely, a drop ride means that those not able to keep up may be left in the dust. I think it's pretty safe to say that all of the rides organized by salsa are no drop. Some may go faster, farther, but we make sure folks are doing OK, regathering at intervals to keep group at least loosely together.
