Who's up for a nice walk through the beautiful Meremac River Green way? We'll meet at the miniature rail-road station in Glencoe and walk the Al Foster Trail with a possible walk to the top of the Bluff View trail to see a spectacular view of the Valley/river below. The Al Foster trail is a nice flat path for easy walking while the Bluff View Trail is about a 2.5 mile easy climb. We'll be returning back down the same way on the Bluff View Trail. Total mileage for this walk will be 6-8 miles. This walk will happen even if there's snow on the ground (will cancel if raining or bad driving conditions) but we may or may not skip the Bluff View trail if it's muddy.
Things to bring;
weather appropriate clothing (dress in layers in case you need to add or remove a layer in case it gets colder/warmer)
Winter shoes that can handle possibly wet/ muddy conditions!! No offense meant, but I noticed some people on last weeks Cherokee walk were wearing summer mesh tennis shoes and their feet got cold very fast and the walk ended shortly afterwards. You need to wear shoes that are warm and are preferably wind/ waterproof or at the very least water resistant. If you show up without the proper shoes, I may ask you not to join the walk!! It's not fair to others to have the walk short because someone chose to ignore this and gets cold/ wet feet and wants to go back!!
snacks for while on the trail or for afterwards.
A fun attitude! :)
