This months challenge may take a little more work so I am letting this one run over 2 months. Plus I will present a primer into the world of Macro Photography on June 9th at Frank's Round Table that will cover equipment, methods, and some how-to-tips. Be sure to RSVP as seating is limited. RSVP HERE!
Here's the challenge...
Take a photograph of something small where your subject fills the frame as much as possible.
Find an interesting subject and get as close as you can. Most all of us have a "Macro" setting on a lens or our camera. Bugs, flowers, or anything small that you can get real close to fits this challenge's theme.
Beside the above mentioned presentation, here are some other resources to get you started:
These vids deal mostly with method and not equipment so much...

This months prize is something no photographer can live without...A dual axis spirit level direct from China.
Yes friends, this 100% acrylic housing with some sort of green non-radioactive* liquid can be yours to start conversations and keep those horizons straight and level. You can't win if you don't enter! Don't let this prize slip away.... Enter and enter often.(* we assume, well, it isn't glowing...)
Photos must be taken between April 1st, 2014 and June 30th, 2014. Deadline for entries, Midnight, June 30th EST. Photos taken before April. 1st, 2014 or after June 30th, 2014 will be disqualified and not scored. This contest is open to all registered members of the St Petersburg Photography Group with the exception of myself and the judges.
Please RSVP (not required but encouraged).
Images will be judged by, in order of importance 1) Best representation of the theme as described in the “Theme” section 2) Creativity 3) Composition, 4) Technical quality and Overall impression. The winning image may not be the “best” photo but the image that represents the theme the best. As in any challenge, the more attention to detail, the better your chances.
