Get Up & Go!

  • This location is shown only to members

WHAT: There's no better way to start the day than a nice quick ride before the heat kicks in. This will be a moderate to fast paced ride, 15mph or so, suitable for road bikes.

WHEN: This ride will occur EVERY WEEK DAY MORNING starting at 6:30 am and ending around 8:00 am.

ROUTE: The route will vary each day based on how we feel and where we want to go. Rides will be cancelled if it's raining.

For now plan on meeting at Loomiller Park where Sunset St. joins 11th Ave. (across from Longmont High School).

If there are no RSVP's I will probably do a quick ride by to see if there are any late breaking drop-ins.

RIDE NOTES: Rides will roll out no more than 5 minutes after the advertised start time, please arrive early and be ready to roll on time.

- Come prepared for mechanical breakdowns (bring spare tube, patch kit, tire levers, multi-tool).

- Be sure to bring enough water for the length of the ride, especially with warmer weather ahead of us. As a general rule, one bottle of water is good for 1 hour of riding (8oz per 20 mins of ride time).

DISCLAIMER: We try to ensure the safest cycling experience on all of our rides, but cycling does come with some risk. Our ride leaders are all volunteers, not professional guides. Each member accepts responsibility for their own conduct and safety (including the safety of your bicycle and any other equipment) during club rides. You take part in club rides entirely at your own risk.

I waited a bit longer this morning, and still no riders showed. I ended up picking up a rider at a breakfast stop.

Would it be easier to have a later start, say 7:00? For the record it was already around 80f @ 7:30 this a.m. The route this morning hit one breakfast stop on the way out, and another on the way back into town. Gotta love bike to work day.

Yeah it's early, but the heat has been coming earlier lately too. This way you can beat the heat.

I'm tentative. Not because the park is 100' from my house but because 630 is early...-ier than I like. :-)
