Let's show our support with Cyclists 4 Jamestown for the Boulder flood relief efforts!
We'll ride a 38 mile route that takes us (at about mile 16) to the Cyclists 4 Jamestown Fundraiser at the Beech Aircraft building upper parking lot above the McGuckin’s Warehouse out on 36, on the west side 1/4 mile south of Neva Road. We will stop in, but have no set plan on how long we'll be there.
We'll start the ride from Ziggi's FRANCIS STREET and follow this route: RIDE4JAMESTOWN
What: A ride to show our support for the cleanup/restoration of Jamestown. A group of cyclists have planned a one day event where you can come and meet leaders of the cycling community including pro road and mountain bike racers, make a donation for Jamestown, and also buy some cool stuff at the silent auction. There will be food, coffee, beer, music and more.
This ride will have 2 or 3 groups. We ride as a close group, two abreast only when it is safe to do so. The Club rides are "NO DROP", we will re-group at the top of hills, and at any turns where necessary.
GROUP Abici: This group will be at a faster pace (17 to 19mph average).
GROUP Basso: This group will be at a medium/fast pace (15 to 17mph average).
GROUP Cinelli: This group will be at a medium pace (13 to 15mph average).
WHO: This is a road bike ride for people who have experience riding on the road with traffic. Please only sign up if you are confident you can complete the above described ride/route (distance, pace etc).
RIDE NOTES: Rides roll out no more than 5 minutes after advertised start time, please arrive early & be ready to roll on time.
- Come prepared for mechanical breakdowns (bring spare tube, patch kit, tire levers, multi-tool).
- Be sure to bring enough water for the length of the ride. As a general rule, one bottle of water is good for 1 hour of riding (8oz per 20 mins of ride time).
DISCLAIMER: We try to ensure the safest cycling experience on all of our rides, but cycling does come with some risk. Our ride leaders are all volunteers, not professional guides. Each member accepts responsibility for their own conduct and safety (including the safety of your bicycle and any other equipment) during club rides. You take part in club rides entirely at your own risk.
