  • This location is shown only to members

WHEN: Club rides take place on alternating Saturdays and Sundays MOST weekends throughout the riding season, and will leave from a convenient Longmont location.

ROUTE: Slightly longer rolling loop, 55 mile RT to Johnstown. Water/food stop will be at McDonalds in the center of town as usual. Click for RIDE WITH GPS MAP or PRINTABLE MAP/CUESHEET

WHAT: Club rides will have 2 or 3 groups. We ride as a close group, two abreast only when it is safe to do so. The Club rides are "NO DROP", we will re-group at the top of hills, and at any turns where necessary.

GROUP Abici: This group will be at a faster pace                                                    (17 to 19mph average).

GROUP Basso: This group will be at a medium/fast pace                                           (15 to 17mph average).

GROUP Cinelli: This group will be at a medium pace                                                 (13 to 15mph average).

WHO: This is a road bike ride for people who have experience riding on the road with traffic. Please only sign up if you are confident you can complete the above described ride/route (distance, pace etc).

RIDE NOTES: Rides roll out no more than 5 minutes after advertised start time, please arrive early & be ready to roll on time.

- Come prepared for mechanical breakdowns (bring spare tube, patch kit, tire levers, multi-tool).

- Be sure to bring enough water for the length of the ride, especially with warmer weather ahead of us. As a general rule, one bottle of water is good for 1 hour of riding (8oz per 20 mins of ride time).

Jace, I couldn't agree more. What a fun group of cyclists. How bout that weather? No wind. Just the right amount of cloud cover, and ELK! Does it get any better?

Marija finally came into the pace line and realized she liked that "pelaton thing". Pam Hill did some remarkable "breakaways", even though she was tired from Ride the Rockies. Hate to see what she'll be like when she's fully rested. We're in trouble boys.

And, as usual, Nick and Pati put together a great route. Thanks guys.

That was definitely a "Cracking" ride today, beautiful route, beautiful scenery, great weather!. Next week is our annual "Picnic" ride, shorter route, with food at 300 Suns after - and Happy hour prices, what could be better :).

I'm glad you enjoyed going slower, Jerry! I had a great time for my inaugural group ride. Thanks to everyone, especially Jerry and Pati for keeping me going. It will be a few weeks before I can go again, but I am planning to!

I've been meaning to slow down a bit for awhile, and today was the day. Another beautiful ride, and we got to show a great route to a couple of new Chain Gang riders. It was nice riding with Anthony, and Mathew this morning. Hopefully we'll see you again.

Top o' the mornin to you folks. Looks like we picked another great day to ride tomorrow, temperatures should be 74F-85F, partly cloudy, and very light winds.

Just a heads up, 75th, Woodland & 83rd North of 66 have been chip sealed this past week (or are in the process of being), just be aware there may be some extra gravel, and unfinished road surfaces for a small section as we head north. See you all tomorrow!.

Ah ok, so they are chip sealing that section too?. Pati is actually checking that section today, so will report back too.

The roads we will be riding on are acceptable. Just be careful on the turns. And the downhill crossing the Little Thompson due to loose gravel. Past the Little Thompson the roads are back to normal.
