Mark your calendars for another caving trip on March 3rd. Ron will be leading this trip.
We're going to go back to Greens Cave at Meramec State Park and try to go back further than we did last time.

What to bring:
There is certain equipment that you must bring. If you don't have something, please let us know ASAP-- we'll do our best to help find a spare.
- HARD HATS (you can buy one at Home Depot or Lowe's for about $7.00)
- At least 3 flashlights (headlamps are great!)
- At least 48 batteries of the size your light source(s) require (no I'm not kidding -- you apparently go through batteries fast in caves) (e.g. if you have 3 lights that take 3 AAA batteries each, you must have at least 48 AAA batteries as backup).
* Sources of Light: Headlamps, flashlights, maglites, etc. example: I have a headlamp and 2 flashlights that I will bring.
- Long sleeve shirt (something you don't mind getting wet and dirty)
- Long pants (something that is durable and you don't mind getting wet and dirty
- Boots (hiking boots that provide ankle support, etc.) NO TENNIS SHOES
- Dry Bag (something to put dry clothes to change into when you come out of the cave plus a towel) You'll want to avoid staying cold and wet.
- A fanny pack or back pack that you can carry your stuff in.
- Trash bags (this is a strict leave no trace environment)
- Food or snacks (will be left outside of cave)
- Water or hydration pack (will be left outside of cave)
- Camera with a flash -- the pictures I've seen so far are phenomenal!
Make sure you have dry clothes/shoes/socks to wear after caving! You'll need 'em...
We'll meet in the usual Border's Books Parking Lot at Sunset Hills.
Since we have a few experienced cavers, we'll open this up to a few more people. On your RSVP, please note if you have any caving experience.
