I've started a list of possible books for us to read on the topic of the mind and the brain at our book club message board. During each live meetup, we'll be choosing a book from the list with any additions to it for our next book club meeting. If you go to "The Mind and The Brain" message board, you can see the list and add your suggestions there. Thanks!
As a follow-up to our previous meetup, I also posted a few links to the interviews with Norman Doidge and Edward Taub under the thread "The Brain That Changes Itself" Meetup Oct. 1 - B&N bookstore, first floor, near the military section".
I hope to see more of you this Thursday, please RSVP if you haven't already.
Best, Anastasia Pryanikova "The Mind and The Brain" Book Club Organizer
Join our informal discussions of books about the mind and the brain, positive psychology and consciousness. We'll explore many daily implications of recent brain research that can help us accelerate positive change, cultivate a healthy mind and brain, and create long-lasting improvements in our lives. Some topics to explore: * How neuroplasticity enables us to rewire our brain with proper attention; * Why our brains are wired to resist change and how we can overcome that resistance; * How to apply specific brain-based strategies to develop new positive habits and increase well-being; * How to improve memory, awareness, and creativity; * How to accelerate learning and maintain vibrant and healthy brains throughout our lives.
