This year as part of YAK Jam 2011 (the Fourth Annual Norwalk Island Kayaker Jamboree) we are collecting money to support two local environmental preservation and protection groups.

The Norwalk Land Trust

and

The Norwalk River Watershed Association

We encourage supporters of the Jamboree to make a contribution to one of these two groups. This Meetup post is a virtual event to allow you to contribute to this Fund Raiser. Posting here does not mean you are attending the Jamboree. An RSVP of YES here simply means you are making a contribution. You can contribute directly to the Land Trust or Watershed Association via their website or you can make a Paypal payment to SKG and SKG will make a collective donation to the two groups on behalf of the Attendees of YAK Jam 2011 .  If you will not be attending the Jamboree you can still RSVP YES here to make a contribution.

Our Goal is to collect $1000 for each group. ($2000 total)

If you make a donation directly to the Land Trust or Watershed Association then please e-mail me so I can include your name in the event roll-call as paid (i.e. I will manually add you to the RSVP list).  Please tell me in the e-mail how much you donated directly to the Land Trust or Watershed Association.

If you would like to pay cash or check then mail it to SKG Environmental Fund Raiser c/o Peter Cloudas, 158 Prudence Drive, Stamford, CT 06907 (check payable to Peter Cloudas and write SKG Environmental Fund Raiser in the memo line).  I will include your name in the event roll-call as paid (i.e. I will manually add you to the RSVP list).

To make a payment via Paypal, select "Yes" for your RSVP and make a payment of Please add $1 to your Paypal contribution to cover Paypal fees.  The suggested voluntary contribution amount is $21, but you may Paypal any amount... $1, $5, $10, $20, $30... etc. plus $1 for paypal fees. Simply change the dollar amount when RSVPing.  SKG does not take any of the money aside from the $1 used to cover Paypal fees.

If you plan to attend the Jamboree please go to the Jamboree page to RSVP.

If you have made a contribution to either of these groups in July you may e-mail me directly and I will include you contribution in our goal total and manually set your RSVP to YES so others know you are included.

This is a virtual event... there is no attendance, no place to be... the date is a dead line and the event is a contribution to the fund raiser. It is separate from the YakJam but in conjunction with the Jamboree.
